carcasa (revision)

Post by Scott H Jackson on Sun Aug 09, 2015 1:12 pm

In the TM I saw that carcasa has been translated variously as:

* shell
* housing
* casing

I've been using housing consistently, and I think we should revise all instances to housing for consistency.

Regarding 'casing', this term is already reserved for "tuberia de revestimiento" so we shouldn't be using it for 'carcasa'.

Ok done.

Scott, I found an issue that I'm not comfortable with though:

According to the Glossary at Wordfast, you defined "tubería de producción" as "production casing", and although I'm hardly an expert in the matter, it doesn't sound right..
I found this http://www.linguee.es/espanol-ingles/search?source=auto&query=tuber%C3%ADa+de+producci%C3%B3n (not very good frankly, enough to instill doubt)

but then I look it up in Schlumberger and I find "production tubing" which does make sense.

http://www.glossary.oilfield.slb.com/en/Terms/p/production_tubing.aspx

Are you sure about that translation ? I have it all over my document.

Cheers, Max

Max,

There's already a post for the "casing tubing" issue...
