De otra parte: on the other hand? Empty De otra parte: on the other hand?

When naming the different parties that enter into the contract, it says: "de una parte", names one of the parties, and then says "de otra parte" and names the other party.

I found in the glossary that "de otra parte" should be translated "furthermore or moreover". But if it's naming the different parties, shouldn't it be "on the one hand" and "on the other hand"? That is, "por un lado, estas personas o compañías" y "por el otro lado, estas otras"?

I added "furthermore / moreover" into the glossary because they were showing up consistently in the machine translation for the term "de otra parte". But I'm not sure... whatever it is we will need to correct for consistency, because both versions have been used in the translations of the contracts.

Jeff, any thought on this?

I've read some contracts and they usually say "on the one hand" & "on the other hand"... let's wait for more suggestions, yes. Smile

Okay, if you've seen it as "on the other hand" in real contracts, let's go with that.

I'll add this term to the REVISIONS list
